Q: Why choose Solutions In Mind Psychology?

A: Solutions In Mind Psychology staff are highly experienced in providing evidenced based assessment and intervention services to families in the Penrith area. They provide services in a range of environments including homes and schools to ensure outcomes are achieved across environments.

Q: Do I need a referral?

A: You do not require a referral to see one of our clinicians. If you do not have a referral full fees will apply for all services. A referral is only required if you wish to claim a medicare rebate for services.

Q: How long is a standard appointment?

A: A standard appointment is 50 minutes in duration. Your clinician will use the 10 minutes following your appointment to make clinical notes and any formal communications required on your behalf to other professionals.

Q: What can I expect from my first appointment?

A: During the first appointment the main focus will be on getting to know you, and or your child / family and gaining an understanding of the problems that have prompted the referral. Your psychologist will ask about the difficulties you are currently experiencing, how they affect you, and what opinions you have about how we can help you. Your psychologist will ask general questions about you and your life to assist them in formulating the most appropriate treatment for you.

Q: Do you provide NDIS funded services?

A: Solutions In Mind Psychology are registered providers of NDIS funded services and have been providing NDIS funded services since the rollout of NDIS funded services in the Penrith area. A copy of your NDIS plan is required to determine if we can provide services within your funding categories to address your desired NDIS treatment goals. Services are able to be provided to NDIA Managed, Plan Managed and Self – Managed NDIS participants.

Q: Am I eligible for a Medicare rebate?

A: Medicare rebates for services will require an appropriate referral from your GP or Paediatrician. Alternatively, most provide health funds also provide rebates for services. Please contact your private health fund for more information.

Q: Do you provide crisis or emergency services?

A: Solutions In Mind Psychology do not provide crisis or emergency services. In the case of an emergency or a crisis please call 000 or present to your local emergency department. You may also contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 Beyond Blue on 1300 224 636

Q: Do you bulk bill?

A: Solutions In Mind Psychology do not bulk bill for services.

Q: Do you offer after hours appointments?

A: Solutions In Mind Psychology offer appointment times during business hours Monday to Friday only.

Q: Do you provide home visits / school visits?

A: Solutions In Mind Psychology offer wholistic services to children and their families. As a result, home visits and school visits may be provided to support children and their families to maximise outcomes across all environments. Additional fees apply.

Q: Can I bring my assistance animal into therapy sessions with me?

A: Solutions In Mind Psychology are a pet friendly practice and support clients whom need to bring an assistance animals into the practice. Please discuss with your clinician any particular needs or accommodations you have around this prior to your appointment.

Q: Do you provide assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorders?

A: Assessment services for Autism Spectrum Disorders are provided by our trained and experienced clinicians. A Medicare rebate may be provided for 4 assessment sessions with an appropriate referral from your child’s Paediatrician.
