Our Team

All of the Psychologists at Solutions In Mind have a minimum of 4 years tertiary studies and are registered with the national regulating body for Psychologists – AHPRA. They are also associate or full members with the Australian Psychological Society and are required to maintain strict requirements for professional development to maintain their registration status.

 

Kasha (Bedford) Zabielo (MAPS)

B. Sc. (Psych) M. Arts. (Psych) - Founder | Director | Principal Psychologist | Educational and Developmental Psychologist | Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner

Kasha graduated from the University of Sydney in 1995 completing a Masters degree in Psychology. Kasha has over 25 years’ experience providing psychology services in the public and private domains. She is a passionate and highly experienced in promoting growth and independence in children, adolescents and adults and in particular those with additional / special needs. She is competent in running a range of evidenced based programs including Triple P (Standard, Stepping Stones and Enhanced) Programs, CBT groups, Cool Kids Anxiety Programs, Sleep Programs, Fussy Eating and Toilet Training programs. She is an accredited Griffiths III provider for developmental assessments. She is an accredited Westmead Feelings Program facilitator. She is competent and experienced in developing and implementing behaviour support plans for clients with complex challenging behaviours and is a Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner. She has presented to parents and other professionals on Anxiety in the Special Needs population. She is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Association of Psychologists in Developmental Disabilities (PSYCHDD). She is an accredited Medicare provider. She is an accredited 4+2 and 5+1 AHPRA Approved Supervisor and has been supervising and mentoring Psychologists for over 15 years. She is an endorsed Educational and Developmental Psychologist.

Jane Wearn (MAPS)

B. Psychology - Psychologist

Jane graduated from the University of Newcastle. She has been a practicing Psychologist for over 25 years providing services to children, adolescents and adults in both the public and private sectors. Jane co-founded Solutions In Mind Psychology in 2013 in conjunction with Kasha Bedford. Jane is an AHPRA approved supervisor and provides ongoing mentoring to Psychologists.

Liz Leahey (Assoc. MAPS)

B. Sc. (Psych) Grad Dip. Applied - Psychology - Senior Psychologist

Liz graduated from the University of Wollongong in 2000. She has worked in the public and private sector including the Catholic School domains as a School Counsellor and in Out of Home Care. She is experienced in providing a range of services across the lifespan with a focus on CBT, person centred, family therapy and behavioural interventions. Liz works with a range of client presentations including mood disorders, anxiety, child behaviour difficulties, and trauma. Liz is an accredited Griffiths III provider for developmental assessments, Cool Kids, and MindUp facilitator. She has a special interest in diagnosing specific learning disorders. Liz is an accredited Medicare provider and AHPRA approved 4+2 and 5+1 Supervisor.

Holly Hargraves (Assoc. MAPS)

B. Psychology - Psychologist

Holly graduated in 2016 from Western Sydney University. Holly has experience teaching dancing to children, including those with special needs in the school environment and local dance studios for the past 13 years. Her experience assists her in providing services to young children and adolescents. She has a special interest in working with adolescent girls on the autism spectrum and addressing their social and emotional development. She is experienced in providing behaviour support to those with complex challenging behaviours. She is passionate about promoting the importance of exercise on mental health and well-being. Holly is a trained ADOS-2 and ADI-R autism assessment provider.

Helen Thomas (Assoc. MAPS)

B. Psychology - Psychologist

Helen graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Psychology (1st Class Honours). Helen is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is an Associate member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). Helen is experienced in working with remote, rural Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island communities to deliver psychological services to children and their families. She has experience of working with people with disabilities in a therapeutic setting and a sports setting. Her special interests include; Childhood trauma, Children in out of home care, Mental health of people with disabilities and Indigenous youth. Helen has completed training in emotional regulation for children with autism spectrum disorders. She has also completed ADI-R and ADOS 2 training. She is an accredited Medicare provider.

Tara Duguid

B. Social Science - Psychologist

Tara graduated from the University of Western Sydney completing a Bachelor of Psychological Studies (1st Class Honours) in 2020. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is a Westmead Feelings Program Facilitator. Tara joins us following volunteering at the practice during her university studies. She is passionate about working with younger children, adolescents and their families, and is particularly focused on empowering young women to be independent and confident in themselves and their social abilities. She is excited to encourage young adults to incorporate exercise and regular self-care practices to embrace a wholistic approach to promoting and prioritising their mental health.

Amy Seymour

B. Psychological Studies l M. Professional Psychology – Psychologist

Amy has completed a Bachelor of Psychological Studies (1st Class Honours) at Western Sydney University and a Master of Professional Psychology at Macquarie University. Amy is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and is an accredited Westmead Feelings Program facilitator. Amy is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of the APS. Amy is an empathetic, warm and caring individual who is passionate about the mental health and wellbeing of children, adolescents and their families.

Tiffany Williamson

B. Business, GradDipPsych, B. Psychology Hons- Provisional Psychologist | Registered Behaviour Support Practitioner

Tiffany has qualifications from La Trobe University, University of New England and her most recent qualification was obtained at Edith Cowan University in 2021 where she completed a Bachelor of Arts (Psych) Honours. During this degree, Tiffany designed, managed and executed a research project which looked at the attitudes and knowledge of 1stand 3rd year psychology students toward Autism Spectrum Disorder. Tiffany is registered with the Australian Health and Regulatory Authority (AHPRA) as a provisional psychologist as well as being registered as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Tiffany has previously worked as a behaviour therapist in the disability sector and has a special interest in supporting children and families with disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Tiffany is passionate about working with neurodiverse families, across a range of cultural backgrounds. Prior to completing her studies, Tiffany lived and worked in East African communities in Tanzania and in the United Kingdom. Tiffany is passionate about supporting children and families to reach their full potential, by understanding and playing to their strengths, identifying, and working on their challenges and understanding that all behaviour is communication.

Winona Dimla

B. Psychology Honours | M. Professional Psych - Provisional Psychologist

Winona graduated from Western Sydney University having completed a Masters of Professional Psychology. She has a background in crisis support at Lifeline and as a mental health worker where she worked with others through their mental health journey to help them reach their fullest potential. She has experience in delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Winona is eager to encourage and empower individuals and families in expanding their capacity to cope with day to day life. She has a special interest in helping children, adolescents and adults achieve personal growth using a holistic and person-centred approach. She is passionate about supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds including cultural and gender.

 

Cara Wilmott

B. Psychology Honours | MAPS – Provisional Psychologist

Cara graduated from the University of New England with a Master of Professional Psychology and is currently registered as a Provisional Psychologist. She has a history working in government and non-government organisations in Australia and internationally, with a particular interest in helping improve the lives of marginalised communities and young people. Cara is a compassionate clinician who seeks to provide a warm and non-judgmental environment for clients of all backgrounds. She is enthusiastic about empowering young people and families to take charge of their mental health and support them to thrive in life.

 

Nicole D'Mello

B. Social Science | M. Professional Psych - Provisional Psychologist

Nicole completed her Bachelor of Science (Psychology) Honours at the University of Sydney and has recently finished her Master of Professional Psychology at Western Sydney University. She is a Provisional Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is also a member of the AAPi. She is passionate about mental health and holistic wellbeing. Nicole is eager to equip children and adults with psychological tools to help them navigate their unique journey in life.

 

Sarah Bannister

B. Psychology Honours - Provisional Psychologist

Sarah is a Registered Provisional Psychologist and joined the team at Solutions in Mind in January 2024. Sarah completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) through Western Sydney University in 2021 and has also attained a Certificate IV in Mental Health. After completing her University studies, Sarah worked in the regional city of Orange for two years as a Provisional Psychologist in a private practice, where she supported both children and adults experiencing a wide variety of conditions such as anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, and Autism. Sarah also has experience in conducting psychological assessments to aid in the diagnosis of conditions such as Specific Learning Disorders, Intellectual Disabilities, ADHD, and Autism. Sarah has a warm, engaging, and friendly demeanour and values working holistically with people to help them achieve their goals. Sarah primarily uses psychological treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitising Reprocessing (EMDR).

Abbey Marie Zabielo

Therapy Aid | Administration Assistant

Abbey completed a Bachelor of Arts Psychology (Honours) at Western Sydney University in 2023, and is currently studying a Masters of Clinical Psychology. Abbey is of Indigenous Descent and is passionate about improving and providing mental health services to the Indigenous community. Her background includes hands-on experience in hospital settings and leading cultural education programs for Indigenous communities. Eager to further contribute to her field, Abbey looks forward to gaining valuable experience within the Solutions in Mind Psychology team.

Michelle Zabielo

Administrative Assistant

Michelle comes to Solutions in Mind Psychology with extensive experience in medical administration, having previously worked in a large medical center and Westmead Children’s Hospital. Known for her welcoming and supportive demeanor, Michelle is always ready to assist the team, clients, and their families. Her friendly and approachable nature, coupled with her administrative expertise, makes her an essential and valued member of the Solutions in Mind Psychology team.

Sam Farrell

Practice Manager

Sam brings a wealth of experience to our team with a diverse background in operations and administration. Over the past 10 years, she has dedicated her expertise to the disability sector and NSW Health. Sam finds fulfilment in her work within the disability sector, where she passionately aids families in achieving their goals. Her joy is witnessing children flourish as they learn and develop skills through therapeutic interventions and participation in social groups. Sam actively gives back to her community by volunteering with local charities at their events and programs. Sam is delighted to assist and address any inquiries you may have.
